The Untold Truths of Being a Makeup Artist 💄⬇ The Untold Truths of Being a Makeup Artist 💄⬇️ Work-Life Balance… Being a makeup artist is a dream come true, but finding a work-life balance can be tough. Summer, especially wedding season, is our craziest time of the year. Every weekend is packed with weddings, mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. This year, I’m juggling two jobs, making it even harder to squeeze in some self-care. I often feel guilty taking a day off with so much work to do, but it’s so important to prioritize self-care to avoid burnout. Running a solo makeup business is incredibly rewarding, but sometimes it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. The constant hustle means I have to be super disciplined with my time. I’ve noticed that during the summer, my friendships, relationships, and family time really take a hit. This year, I promised myself I’d enjoy summer more. Taking an evening to go to the lake and get on my paddle board is my way of recharging. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I know it’s time to step back from work and take a breather. Just remember to take time for yourself and enjoy the things you love. Especially living in Canada, we only get three months of summer if we’re lucky, so make the most of it!
