POV: you didn’t give up on your hobby

The amount of times I hear “must be nice to play with makeup all day” or “must be nice to always be traveling”. I truly wish it was that easy. 7 years in and I am finally feeling happy with where I am at in my career. It hasn’t been an easy road, there’s been lots of tears shed, trying to figure out how to pay bills, lots of changes in my life, but I did it.

This is your reminder to keep following your dreams. Even when it gets hard. When you want to quit, keep going. When people make fun of you for posting, post more. I promise good things will happen if you just keep going.

Thankful for my little hobby of playing with makeup turned into my dream career of being a makeup artist.

Drugstore hair care isn’t that bad ⬇️

There is a huge misconception about drugstore hair care. (Sorry hair stylists). It’s actually not all bad for you and your hair. Some of my favourite haircare products are from the drugstore! Drugstore products use the exact same ingredients as high end products. How those ingredients are used to formulate a product is what makes all the difference. That’s why there are great products at all price points

@tresemme had sent over their keratin smooth line and I had to test it out because I used to use the heat protectant in high school and it brought back so much nostalgia.

The shampoo and conditioner was okay for my hair, but if you had thinner hair it would be too heavy.

The leave in conditioner was thin and I found that it helped get the hair more evenly coated. I felt like my hair needed a little more moisture after I blow dried, but I do have dry hair. This would be better for someone looking to call frizz!

The heat protectant is still amazing till this day.

Finally the finishing hairspray, I love it. Doesn’t make your hair feel crispy. It brushes out really nice as well.

The struggle with my acne has been real 😅

I am starting to do a monthly acne facial treatment with Laurèn at @sweetskin.beauty. She was extremely thorough with my consultation. Getting into what products I used on my skin, what I was eating, my family history, my activity levels and so much more. I have never had someone pay such close attention and really truly care about my skin. She is constantly checking in to see how my skin is doing as well post treatment.

Laurèn is passionate about what she does and really wants the best for you. She walked me through the products she used and what she would recommend me to continue doing going forth.

Now, I know this is a journey and not a sprint to clear skin. I will update every month with my treatment journey! Excited to see how my skin is in three to six months.
